The Tes F'Ruum Chat Room

Interactive! Real Time! More than a little bizarre!

Not content with being able to discuss things on our very own forum, we also have our own IRC chat room, which can be found at #tes_fruum, or by clicking the link below.

The chat room is a lot more easy-going than the forums, and there is only one basic rule: no discussion of warez. The channel is moderated by the Tes F'Ruum staff team, but you'll find them just as willing to have some fun as you.

Also, if you need a quick introduction to IRC chatting, read through the short FAQ below, which was originally posted by Alexander on our forum, posted here with some slight amendments and additions by Troika.

IMPORTANT: When you see a command that has something written in italics, that means that is a variable. So if it says 'emailaddress,' you would enter your email address.

How do I change my name?

You change your name by typing:

/nick name

How do I register my nickname?

You register your nickname by changing your name into the one you want it to be using the above command, and then typing:

/ns register password emailaddress

Make sure to put in a password that you can remember. You'll then receive an email with a code; enter that code in the chat channel and your registration is complete.

IMPORTANT: Always check you've entered the information correctly, especially the '/' at the beginning, otherwise you could end up displaying your password to everyone else on the channel!

How do I log in after my name has been registered?

When you enter the chat, simply change your name to the name you registered and then type:

/ns identify password

After you identify for the first time, type this:

/ns set kill on

This will make sure no one else can use your nicknames. You will have one minute to enter your password after changing your name, or your name will be changed back.

Why should I register my nickname?

It might become necessary in the future, to give some regular chatters operator status in the channel. Operator status is similar to a moderator on the forums at Waiting4Oblivion.com. In order for you to be added as operator automatically each time you enter the room, you need to have a registered nickname.

When and if you get this status is of course up to the founder here and the admins there.

How do I join other channels?

You can join another channel with the command:

/join channelname

This won't close the channel you're currently in, but instead open the second one simultaneously, in the same window.

there are several that you might find interesting:
#elderscrolls (this is the official unofficial channel of the official forums)
#waiting4oblivion (the official channel of our site)
#til (the official channel of the imperial library, for all your lore needs)

So, come on in and join the fun!
